Teriyaki Sauce

If your fridge is anything like mine, you probably have almost all the ingredients on hand to make this. I will do store-bought teriyaki sometimes, but this scratch version is super simple and tastes delicious!

Ingredients


  • 1 C soy sauce

  • ½ C brown sugar

  • 2 T apple cider vinegar

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 2 t sesame oil

  • 1 t fresh ginger, minced

  • ½ C water

  • 3 T cornstarch


Preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients well as you are preparing your protein of choice (chicken, beef, shrimp, pork).

  2. At the very end of cooking, pour sauce and immediately turn down heat to medium-low or low until sauce begins to bubble and thicken. Add more water if necessary. Cook for about 2 minutes until thick and glossy.
