This homemade version is way better than the frozen food version you can find at the grocery store. You also may likely already have all the ingredients in your pantry.

Ingredients
1½ lb ground beef
1 diced onion, divided
1 egg
½ C plain breadcrumbs
1 t garlic powder
1 t onion powder
½ t salt
1 t vegetable oil
½ t freshly ground black pepper
2 t + 1 t worcestershire sauce
1 ½ C sliced mushrooms
1 T all-purpose flour
1 T butter
1 t dijon or dry prepared mustard
1 ½ C beef broth
Preparation
In a large bowl, add ½ of the chopped onion, egg, ½ C breadcrumbs, 2 t worcestershire, and all other dry ingredients. Add ground beef and mix lightly until everything is well combined. Form into 4 oval patties.
Heat the 1 t of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook for approximately 12 - 15 minutes, flipping one time until all sides are brown and the meat is almost fully cooked through. Remove to a plate.
Add the 1 T butter, 1 ½ C mushrooms, and ½ C chopped onions and saute until tender and mushrooms have released most of their liquid (approximately 5 minutes). Add flour and cook for 1 additional minute, then slowly add the 1 ½ C beef broth and cook until thickened. Add back the patties, cover, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
