This dish tastes even better on the second day. You can replace the semi-homemade sauce in the recipe below with a 12-oz bottle of a storebought BBQ brisket marinade (such as Claude's®).

Ingredients
1 (3-lb) beef brisket
1 (12-oz) bottle barbecue sauce
1 (12-oz) can beer
4 garlic cloves, sliced
2 t liquid smoke
1 onion, sliced into rings
1 t salt
1 t freshly cracked black pepper
1 T mustard
2 T worcestershire sauce
Preparation
Preheat oven to 325° F.
Trim the majority of the fat cap off the brisket, leaving only a thin strip left and place in a casserole dish fat side up.
Sprinkle salt and pepper all over the top of the brisket, then layer the sliced garlic and onions all over.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, worcestershire, beer, liquid smoke and mustard until combined and pour all over the top of the brisket. Only use ¾ of the sauce, reserving the rest for serving.
Tightly cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil and bake for 3 hours. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving with reserved barbecue sauce.
