Fettucine Alfredo

This is a quick weeknight dinner that is always satisfying! Add your favorite protein, although ours tends to always be shrimp - grilled chicken works great also.

Ingredients


  • 2 (12-oz) packages fettucine pasta

  • 2 sticks butter (1 C)

  • 2 C (1 pint) heavy whipping cream

  • 1 t garlic powder

  • 2 T + 1 t salt

  • 1 t freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 ½ C parmesan cheese, grated

  • 8 C water


Preparation

  1. In a large stockpot or Dutch oven, bring water and 2 T salt to a boil and cook fettucine noodles until al dente, about 10 minutes. Drain water and set aside.

  2. In a large pan, melt butter and add cream over medium low heat; add remaining 1 t salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese and cook for about 4 minutes until cheese has melted and sauce is smooth.

  3. Pour alfredo sauce over pasta, stir well to combine, and serve.
