Key Lime Pie

A church potluck favorite and a breeze to make!

Ingredients
1 unbaked pie crust
3 eggs, separated
1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk
½ C lime juice (about 4 fresh limes)
½ t cream of tartar
⅓ C granulated sugar
Preparation
Preheat oven to 325° F and lightly grease a 9" pie plate with butter.
In a medium-sized bowl, beat egg yolks and slowly pour in the lime juice and sweetened condensed milk; blend until well combined.
Pour into pie crust and bake for 30 minutes, then remove from oven and increase heat to 350° F.
In a smaller bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar, gradually adding in the sugar. Beat for at least 4 minutes until sugar is dissolved and stiff peaks have formed.
Spread the meringue over top of the pie, and return to the oven for 15 minutes and then remove. Enjoy!
