Breakfast Casserole

This is a great make-ahead casserole the night before. Just cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake the next morning.

Ingredients


  • 1 lb breakfast sausage

  • 2 C shredded cheddar cheese

  • 10 eggs

  • 2 ¼ C milk

  • 1 ½ t freshly ground black pepper

  • 8 slices bread, cubed

  • 1 t salt

  • ½ t onion powder

  • 1 t garlic powder

  • 1 ½ t dry prepared mustard


Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F and grease a 9" x 13" casserole dish with butter.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

  3. In a medium-sized skillet, brown breakfast sausage and drain excess fat.

  4. Add cooked sausage, bread cubes, and cheese to egg mixture.

  5. Pour entire mixture into prepare casserole dish and bake for 30 - 40 minutes or until center is set.

    (NOTE: If made the night before and refrigerated, be sure to pull out and let casserole get to room temperature before baking - about 30 minutes time).
