Sausage Bread

A co-worker named Angela brought this to a company potluck and I had to have the recipe! Great for breakfast or an anytime snack.

Ingredients


  • 1 lb breakfast sausage

  • 2 (10-count) cans refrigerated biscuits

  • ½ onion, diced

  • 1 ½ C shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 green bell pepper, diced


Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and grease a bundt pan.

  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook breakfast sausage until almost completely browned. Drain off a portion of the grease, and then add onions and bell peppers and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until vegetables have softened.

  3. Open both biscuit cans, and cut each biscuit into quarters. Layer one of the cans of quartered biscuits sparingly all around the inside of the bundt pan. Next, layer in the sausage mixture, and then add the cheese. Finally, layer the second can of quartered biscuits all the way around.

  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Turn upside down onto a plate and serve warm.
