Sausage French Toast Rollups

These are fantastic little pickups at a party. Serve with a side of maple syrup.

Ingredients


  • 1 (272g, 12-count) package precooked breakfast sausage links

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • ¼ C milk

  • 1 loaf white bread, crusts cut off

  • ½ t salt

  • 1 C maple syrup (for serving)

  • ½ stick butter


Preparation

  1. Lightly brown the breakfast sausage in a medium-sized skillet over medium heat. Remove, and cut each sausage link in half.

  2. Combine beaten eggs, milk, and salt in a shallow bowl.

  3. Take a rolling pin and roll out each slice of white bread (with crusts cut off) until it is flat.

  4. Gently roll each sausage link half in each slice of flattened bread. Dip each rollup completely in the egg mixture.

  5. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter and cook each rollup, being sure to roll and brown all sides. Serve warm with maple syrup.
