I made sausage balls for years, loved the flavor - but was always disappointed with the texture (too dry). I stumbled across a recipe that added cream cheese and it was a game changer! Also, if you don't have Bisquick® handy, check out the "Breads" section of my website for an easy substitute.

Ingredients
1 lb breakfast sausage
1 t garlic powder
½ t black pepper
1 (8-oz) block cream cheese, softened
1 t milk
¼ t red pepper flakes
2 C Bisquick®
½ t salt
½ t worcesteshire
1 C shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 t grated onion
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a cookie sheet.
In a medium-sized bowl, combine uncooked sausage, cream cheese, garlic powder, black pepper, grated onion, worcestershire, milk, red pepper flakes, Bisquick®, and grated cheddar cheese. Form into golf-ball sized shapes and place on cookie sheet.
Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
