Pork Egg Rolls

These are best when served warm immediately after cooking with a nice sweet & sour dipping sauce.

Ingredients


  • 1 lb ground pork

  • 3 ½ C grated cabbage

  • 1 C grated carrot

  • ½ C sliced green onions

  • 2 t minced garlic

  • 2 t minced ginger

  • 1 ½ t each of salt & pepper

  • 2 T soy sauce

  • 2 t sesame oil

  • 1 beaten egg

  • 1 t vegetable oil

  • Vegetable oil for frying

  • 16 egg roll wrappers


Preparation

  1. Heat 1 t of vegetable oil into a pan, then add ground pork and cook until browned. Add salt and pepper, then add garlic and ginger and cook for an additional 1 minute. Add cabbage, carrot and green onions and cook for 4 minutes. Add sesame oil & soy sauce, stir to combine, and off the heat. Cool completely.

  2. Spoon approximately 2 - 3 T of the pork mixture into each wrapper, using a little of the beaten egg to seal the end as you roll up.

  3. Heat oil to 350°F and fry in batches of 4 for about 3 - 5 minutes until golden brown. Remove to drain on paper towels.
