This is the first party appetizer I ever made over 30 years ago - a recipe borrowed from my neighbor Jill in North Little Rock...still a winner and the first plate emptied at any cocktail party!

Ingredients
12 slices uncooked bacon
3 lbs fresh green beans, ends trimmed
1 ½ t garlic powder
½ stick butter
¼ C brown sugar
½ t salt
1 t freshly cracked black pepper
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400°F and gather a 9" x 13" glass casserole dish.
Cut bacon slices in half, and wrap about 5 - 6 green beans with each bacon half slice. Secure with a toothpick and place in casserole dish. Repeat process with remaining bacon and green beans.
In a small saucepan, melt butter and add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and brown sugar over medium-low heat until brown sugar has melted completely and slightly caramelized.
Drizzle brown sugar mixture generously over all green bean bundles.
Bake for 30 minutes or until bacon has fully cooked. If necessary, crank up the heat or broil to completely finish cooking the bacon.
