This recipe yields 80 crackers - assuming each person eats 2, then it would be 40 servings. I have tried this using olive oil, but it seemed to overpower it. Vegetable oil works best.

Ingredients

  • 2 sleeves saltine crackers

  • 1 C vegetable oil

  • 4 T dried parsley

  • 2 t dried dill weed

  • 3 t garlic powder

  • 2 t onion powder

  • 1 t salt

  • ½ t black pepper

  • 2 T red pepper flakes

Preparation

  1. Place the saltines in a gallon zip plastic bag.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the oil, parsley, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes until well blended.

  3. Pour mixture over crackers and zip bag tightly after pressing out as much air as possible.

  4. Lay the bag flat on a counter and flip over after 1 hour and let it rest overnight. Next day, flip again to ensure all crackers are evenly coated and serve.
